Day 3

What were your favorite projects shared today?

What topics might you like us to choose for another "summer institute" next year?

Any suggestions for ways we can help you and/or others in the future?

I loved everyones' creative projects!!! Next year I would just like to keep learning about new programs and software that I could use with my class.
I know I could do a lot more WITH my students if we had more student stations that were updated, newer and worked consistantly -- right now we have less than 10 decent computers for students at West. We just need better equiptment for students. Thanks for a great few days -- it was wonderful!!

It would be way too difficult to pick some favorite projects!!! They were all awsome!!! I learned so much from the others that were here.
I wish we could meet again to review what we learned and share what new things we have created, after we have worked with our new skills for a while.

All of the projects were wonderful. I am so glad I signed up for this class. The time flew by and was such a positive experience. I have learned so many things I can use in my classroom. The instructors were great and very helpful. Thank you for all of your hard work!!

The claymation movies were most fun -- most likely because they cover both auditory and visual senses.???
The comic life projects just can't be overlooked though. There were so many different concepts presented for which this application can be used!!

Thanks to everyone who presented and shared their knowledge.
I will plan to attend the next session!

I liked the frog movie in claymation, and in comic life "all about me",and "Cite Your Sources". Next year I would like help with "networking different projects to other classrooms across the country". Suggestions for the future is more tools like "isight cameras, etc" for teachers in the class. Thanks for all your help and new tools.

This has been wonderful! I really appreciated seeing everyone's great projects and all of the work that was put into them.

I enjoyed working on the projects too, and next year would like to see a continuation of creative projects that we could use with our students in our classrooms.

Thanks!

I enjoyed all the projects that were shared today and they sparked lots of ideas for me to use in the classroom. Next year it would great if we could do this again. It is nice in the summer, when we aren't so bogged down and overwhelmed with school commitments, to have this time to learn. The continued support is appreciated, and I would love to see other projects as people create them during the school year!!

My favorite projects shared today seem to be all of them. Each project was well thought out and had merit for the way they were presented, for presentor and presentee. I also got many ideas as to uses that I would like to incorporate in the coming year.

As to what topics I would like to see for next year - anything new that you feel we, as teachers, could use with our students. I loved the Comic Life sheets for many reasons and I can see students liking these also.

You, the tech committee can help most of us by being there to answer questions when we forget how to do something. I appreciate your promptness when we have problems with our computers.

Thanks for a wonderful and insightful couple of days. I, for one, truly enjoyed myself and felt the days were well worth the time and effort - even without the new equipment. However, the new equipment will make the projects even more user-friendly and versatile for students and teachers alike.

Just keep dragging us into the tech world. Students are wired for this and we need to take advantage of this wiring. The projects were all very creative. Sometimes I envy those working with younger students because they can still be cutesy with their projects and their students will think it is great. Being cute and clever with teenagers sometimes just doesn't work as well. All in all a very positive experience. I'd do it again!

I really liked a) the different look for worksheets that can be created for student use (Threse & Tara) and b) the problem solving class starters that Myron developed. The jellyfish movie and the claymations with the frogs and herbivores were good and clever. For next summer, I'd be happy with guided practice on some of the things we already know but I'd also be happy to try to learn new things, too. I don't know what it "out there" so don't have any ideas. I think that your willingness to answer questions throughout the year will be excellent support. Thank you so much for this opportunity!
